The Print Trade is a small, invite-only community of photographers who ship each other signed, archival-quality prints. No sales, no subscriptions, no catch — just artists building each other's collections, one envelope at a time.
Signed, archival, made by the photographer.
Every print exchanged here is a signed original, made by the photographer on archival, collector-grade paper — the kind of print you'd expect at a gallery or print sale.
That usually means 300+gsm cotton rag, fibre-based silver gelatin, pigment or darkroom processes rated to last a lifetime. If you're still figuring out papers and processes, just ask — the community is happy to talk shop.

Explore the directory of photographers and their work. Every member shares what they print — archival quality, collector-grade paper.

Propose
See something you love? Propose a trade. Pick the print you want and the size. Your partner picks one of yours in return.

Print & ship
Each person prints and ships their own work. You cover your own costs — no money changes hands between members.

Collect
Receive a signed, hand-printed original on archival, collector-grade paper. Build a collection of work you couldn't get anywhere else.

No money. Ever.
The site is free. Prints are at-cost — each person pays for their own printing and shipping. We don't take a cut, and there's no paid tier now or later. Read the rules.

Your work stays yours.
Full copyright, always. You grant a tiny, revocable license to display your prints to signed-in members — and nothing else. No AI training. No scraping. No sublicensing. Read the terms.

We don't sell or share your data.
No ads, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics scripts. One session cookie, Resend for transactional email, Cloudflare for hosting and privacy-respecting analytics. That's the whole list. Read the privacy policy.

We only store what the site needs.
Name, email, a hashed password, your printing details, and the images you upload. Shipping addresses are only shared between two members after you both accept a trade — never before, never with anyone else.

Invite-only, on purpose.
Every member was vouched for by another member. That's a feature, not friction — it's the simplest way to keep the community what it is.

Real humans you can reach.
DM Ian or Padma about anything — including deleting your account and all your data. @fiftymillimeter_ or @my_eyes_are_red.
No quotas, no deadlines, no fees.
Trade when you want, with who you want. You can mark yourself as unavailable any time — your profile and gallery stay up, but you won't receive new trade proposals until you're ready again. The only cost is printing and shipping your own work.
